La Sheikha Diva...
Skeikha printed Couture: Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al Missnad of Qatar arriving in India
Several days ago Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani arrived in India, along with the second of his three wives--the elegant Skeihka Mozah Bint Nasser Al Missnad. They were there on an official state visit to strengthen ties between the two nations. They met with the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Indian President Prathiba Patil as well as other top dignitaries.

It is reported that they signed various agreements, including one to enhance co-operation in oil and gas production. Qatar is the largest provider of liquefied natural gas to India and India is also a major importer of Qatari oil. Both Qatar and India also signed agreements relating to tourism, education exchanges and co-operation over legal issues.
But now, let's get to the glamorous Sheikha!!! As you know (if you've been keeping up with my "Royal Fashion Minute's" here on my blog) I've written about the Qatari Sheikha Mozah before and and her unique--and very FABULOUS--turban. That turban has become her "Birkin Bag" of sorts. She's a client of all the top Fashion Houses and wears $100,000+ Haute Couture ensembles, because she can!
Sheikha Mozah of Qatar in Stephane Rolland Haute Couture with Queen Sofia of Spain, 2011
Last year, she wore Stephane Rolland Haute Couture, Chanel Haute Couture, and others, during an Official State Visit with the Spanish Royals. She was the "Toast of Spain" and all "Fashion Watchers"...
For her visit to India, she arrived in a blue and white flower printed fit-to-flared dress featuring a drop waist, box-pleats and three-quarter sleeves. It has the essence of a Lady-Who-Does-Brunch ensemble as well as "I'm about to head to the Kentucky Races" but still sooo First Lady Diva!
The silhouette looks very old-school Dior. I love the 4-strand pearls and yes, the baby blue matching turban and drop-waist sash. Lady like, chic and oh-so- 1950's elegant.
And here is the Sheikha, in another dress, worn during a ceremonial reception at India's Presidential Palace Rashtrapati Bhayan in New Delhi. Here she opted for a loose, more flowy style in a color-blocked design of black, white and green. And she smartly cinched it with a thin leather belt. Notice the ankle length of the dress. It's not long enough to be considered an evening gown but a chic way of "covering up" for day time. As always, she finished off her look with a great clutch, and that iconic turban. Once again, she gets an "A" in style.
