Seattle Part Deux: Red Couture Exits to Make Room for Sexy Swimsuits!

Immediately following my stint as Judge and "Special Celebrity Guest" at the Third Annual Project Red Dress Fundraiser Fashion Show extravaganza, I prepared myself for the next fashion show, also taking place at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel Spanish Ballroom: The Forbidden Fashion Show. No time for "outfit change" so I kept my Project Red Dress-themed red jacket and black silk jacquard Dolce & Gabbana tie on...Iridescent Runway: The HOLO Grid Holographic Catwalk, Spanish Ballroom, Fairmont Olympic Seattle Hotel (photo courtesy of Jorge Hernandez)

Red Couture "Out" (for now) and "In" with lingerie and swimsuits! The Ballroom cocktail "lobby" was packed as the HOLO Grid Holographic Runway was cleared and guests were escorted to take their seats. I was invited as a "Special Guest" once again, but this time no judging--just enjoying a front-row seat viewing the most perfectly toned bodies in the Emerald City (Note to Self: More Time on the Tread Mill!!!).

This time around, instead of Poison Waters (who hosted PRD), it was Fordidden Fashion Show Producer/Director and Co-Host, my good friend Eduardo Khawam who gave me a seat next to him in his VIP Interview Chat Section. The fashion show was comprised of the latest styles for Spring/Summer 2010 for lingerie, underwear as well as swimsuits.Holographic Pool: Models showing swimsuits from Tininha's Boutique and Cintli Jewelry by Beto Yarce (photo courtesy of Jorge Hernandez)

I heard a "Casting Call" was sent out for "Seattle's Most Perfect Bodies", and by the looks of what I was seeing, they were all there!

The Space Needle: View from South Lake Union area

The following night,
I was once again a special guest at the "Forbidden Show After Party" held at the Little Red Bistro and Studio in Seattle's South Lake Union area. Little Red Bistro and Studio, Seattle

Models, designers, sponsors and everyone-who-is-anyone in the Seattle "Fashion Scene" were there to enjoy the special Forbidden Fashion Show cocktails, great dance/house music and some delicious French-inspired cuisine.

I had a
fun night chatting with the guests, especially the models, trying to find out their diet and work-out routine to get those "Forbidden Fashion Show" physiques. Here's a hint: I don't think it involves the delicious Steak Campagne I enjoyed for dinner there at the Little Red Bistro!
Thank you Seattle for a lot of of Red Couture...and "forbidden" Fashion Fun!

0 Andrew Christian Opening Night Store Opening Party: Nick Verreos Gets A Swimsuit!!!

Clothing Optional...
Am I Over-Dressed With My Hermes Belt: Nick Verreos, Andrew Christian Models and guests Mike Lucas and Spiro Skentzos, Andrew Christian Store Opening Party

This Memorial Day Weekend, instead of going away to Palm Springs or Abu Dhabi for the three-day weekend like most of the fashionista A-List (well, I saw Sex And The City 2, does that count?) I stayed in Los Angeles. Photo Courtesy of LookBookLA.com

And I'm glad I did, because my good friend of over 10 years (we were TWELVE when we met!!!), designer Andrew Christian, was having his "Opening Night Party" for his flagship store in West Hollywood. Window Un-Dressed: Andrew Christian West Hollywood Store Window (photo courtesy of LookBookLA.com)

Of course I didn't come alone and brought my two cutie friends of A LONG time, Mike Lucas and Spiro Skentzos (my Greek "sister"!). The new store--located in the "heart" of West Hollywood on Santa Monica Blvd, was packed with guests sipping on white wine, enjoying the DJ's tunes and shopping...doing LOTS of shopping! All the sexy underwear that you would expect from Andrew Christian were on display.
As well as lots of his latest swimsuit styles --my favorite being the cropped shorts style and a pair of Seersucker ones I wished I would have bought! (I got the cropped ones instead). Trois: Andrew Christian, Nick Verreos and JP Calderon, Andrew Christian Store Opening

I had a great time shopping for my upcoming trip to Italy (Positano here I come!). Also there shopping was one of my all-time favorite boys, the very sexy and always Oh SOOO NICE J.P. Calderon, of Survivor Cook Islands and Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency and... Andrew Christian's fellow Bravo's Season One The Fashion Show alumn and finalist, James-Paul. This was my first time meeting him and OMG, he's sooooo tiny!! All in all, Mike, Spiro and I had a blast at this FAB Andrew Christian West Hollywood Store Opening. We mingled, enjoyed some wine, shopped and spent some money. Yeah, I guess that was Andrew Christian's plan!

0 Out and About: Nick Verreos attends the Necessary Baggage Lauch Party!!!

Downtown Los Angeles Loungin'...
Last week, to take a break from 12 hours of teaching and way-too-many-hours of draping-and-making-patterns-for-Grammy-dresses, I decided to venture out in my 'hood--Downtown Los Angeles, that is... My good friend Susie Im, PR DIVA for Bebe, invited me to a fun Launch Party for a new Men's Loungewear Line, Necessary Baggage. Boxer Models: Dan Glenn, Brett Washington, Andy Bowland, Jordan Koestner

PS: Love that name! She told me that there would be male models in underwear, cocktails, hors d'oeurvres and it would be a fab location. Done and done. Posing Buddies: Designer Angelo Estrada and Model Amanda Fields (in NIKOLAKI jacket)

I decided to "drag" my good friends, Project Runway Season 3 Model Amanda Fields (who is about to leave for New York for NY Fashion Week castings!) and designer Angelo Estrada--who graduated from my Alma Mater, the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and had just returned from China. The Launch Party was held at the Crocker Club, a former Bank Vault turned supper club. Angelo had been there before and had told me that I had to "see it to believe it". The bar/nightclub has a strict "Dress Code" and you can best believe we adhered to it. In fact, I was sporting a bow tie, dress shirt and my YSL boots, Miss Amanda wore my NIKOLAKI "Edwardian" shawl-collared fitted jackets that we sold at Nordstrom. And Angelo, well, he was GIVING: Leather half-gloves, a long gray woolen scarf, blue-black pompadour hair and some FIERCE eyeglasses. Party Guests: Susie Im, Necessary Baggage Designers Carlos Martinez and Anthony Malzone (in ties), along with Nick Verreos, Kirin Bhatty, Amanda Fields and M the Movement

Angelo was right, by the way, the club has all these different rooms, semi-private booths and a "secret" area where the vault actually was. It was pretty cool (did I just say that?). All I kept thinking was "this would be a great location for a photoshoot!". The party was packed with guests who were enjoying the informal show of half-naked male models in stylish boxers. There whole "styling theme" seemed to be vibing a Bachelor Party that had occurred HOURS ago that had dissolved into a game of Strip Poker and they were all down to their skivvies! Necessary Baggage designers Anthony Malzone and Carlos Martinez with their "muses"

I think the guests all enjoyed it --whatever the "styling mood" was. There was even a sales room set up where guests could place orders and buy the latest from Necessary Baggage. It was a nice break from my non-stop work madness.
