0 Kareena's Rs 5-crore fizzy deal

Kareena Kapoor has apparently charged a record amount for her latest endorsement deal with a beverage brand

If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. That seems to be Bebo’s recent mantra. The actress has just signed on a whopping deal with a lemonade brand, giving archrival Katrina Kaif (who endorses a mango drink) a run for her money.

We learnt that Bebo, who was the face of another popular cola company, lost no time after her current contract expired and grabbed another endorsement deal from a rival brand for apparently a whopping Rs 5 crore.

Queen of endorsements

Says a source, “Kareena now has 16 brands in her kitty including the latest one, easily making her the most sought-after face in the ad space amongst the actresses. 2011 was the year of big money for Kareena, thanks to her back-to-back hits.”

Ever since she signed onto to Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine, the actress’s fat pay cheques have been grabbing headlines. She was apparently paid almost Rs 8 crore for the film, the highest for any actress in the Indian film space ever.

Clearly that has reflected on her choice of brands and the money she is charging for them as well. Adds the source, “Though Bebo has a lot of film commitments, she makes sure she gives enough time to her brands and hence charges as much.”

Kareena was also spotted shooting for her very first commercial with the brand a few days ago at Brabourne studio in Mumbai. Adds the source, “Both Katrina and Asin who endorse soft drinks have had ads that have gained a lot of popularity.

So Kareena and her team were insistent that the commercial must be catchy and entertaining.” All Kareena had to say is — “I am not allowed to talk money!”

Rate card per endorsement (approx)

Katrina Kaif
Rs 4-4.5 crore

Priyanka Chopra
Rs 3-3.5 crore

Deepika Padukone
Rs 2-3 crore

Madhuri Dixit
Rs 1-2 crore

0 Katrina Kaif 'game' for action packed ‘Dhoom 3'

MUMBAI: After dabbling in action in the yet-to-release Ek Tha Tiger with Salman Khan, actress Katrina Kaif will prepare for another action innings, and this time it would be for Dhoom 3.

Not an easy task, but Katrina is game for it. The pretty girl will be seen in a role of a gymnast in the film, and to go by the reports, her action scenes in the film are almost at par with that of her co-star Aamir Khan. Being a stickler for perfection, Katrina Kaif is hell-bent to get it right and thus has hired an international fitness instructor to help her train for Dhoom 3.

Currently the trainer is with her in London, where she is shooting for her film with Shahrukh Khan. She reportedly trains for two hours every day to strengthen her core muscles and increase stamina and agility. She will be training for four months, post which Dhoom 3 goes on the floors.

However, when Katrina returns to Mumbai she has more task cut out for her. Kat’s personal trainer Yasmin Karachiwala has planned a new regime for her. She tells a daily, “Kat needs to get flexible and lean, so when she returns from London, we will change her workout routine…She doesn’t need to look thin, but lean.”

For her last few films Katrina Kaif has gone for immense training and workouts, be it flaunting a flab-less belly in Sheila Ki Jawani, or biking in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Kat achieves what she aspires for.

In Dhoom 3 she will be seen in a fatal action avatar for the first time that too opposite Aamir Khan. What else could excite her fans more?

0 Some juicy details of Katrina Kaif

We haven't even stepped into March yet, but Katrina Kaif's already dreaming about mangoes. Shooting in Cuba for Ek Tha Tiger, the diva just can't wait to get her hands on some ripe Alphonsos, dieting be damned. As she explores the new land and its local cuisine after her shoot, Katrina Kaif reveals some food and diet secrets:

Nutri-care
I drink lots of water and eat balanced, nutritious meals and exercise to stay fit. I believe that eating nutritious food is very important and fruits form an important part of it. There are many dieting rules and one should figure out what works best for your body. Do not follow anything blindly or from reading books alone. Take professional help as well.

I don't like to eat everything together at meal times; so fruits act as good snacks in between main meals.

Fresh cut
I love mangoes and my favourite variety is Alphonso. Staying in Mumbai helps me get my fill of Alphonsos every season. I remember, during an ad campaign shoot, I had to pose with some freshly cut mangoes. I kept eating the mangoes and they had to keep replenishing them! But to tell you the truth, I like to make interesting mocktails with mango drinks. Fresh mint leaves and ice in a mango drink tastes divine. Also, mangoes make for just the perfect in-between-meal snack. Besides that, I like the simple yet cool and refreshing taste of dahi-chawal (rice with curd).

Going local
Whenever I travel to a new place, I make sure that I explore the local cuisine and culture. This time, I have tried the Cuban cuisine and it sure is very interesting. The fusion of Spanish, African and Caribbean ingredients and spices gives it a flavourful blend and taste.

I want to explore the country soome more, but it is a busy schedule as we are in a different country and it is a demanding film. Whatever little time we get from the shoot, we try and catch up on a bit of local culture, food, etc.

But what's got my adrenaline running are the stunts that I have to train for as I'm performing them in the film. It is going to be an exciting and a new experience.
